When you smell gas
1.If you smell gas in your home, fully open windows and doors. Do not open windows and doors if you smell gas outside your home.
Natural gas is lighter than air, so opening windows and doors will diffuse the gas to outside of your home.
- DO NOT use any open flame nor touch any switches, including exhaust fan, kitchen fan, and light switches.
2.Close gas taps.

3.Reporting to Toho Gas Network
Toho Gas Network provides emergency service for gas problems at any time: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including holidays. Please report to us if you smell gas in your neighborhood.
- When reporting a gas leak, please tell us your name, address, any landmarks in your neighborhood, and the situation at the actual site of gas leakage.
